West Texas A&M Women's Soccer to Host Midwestern State on Friday

CANYON, Texas - In its last home match of the regular season, the West Texas A&M women's soccer team will face the Midwestern State Mustangs on Friday at 3 p.m. at The Pitch. The Lady Buffs are 11-5 on the season with a 5-4 Lone Star Conference mark. Leading the team in goals with 13 is junior forward Elisabeth Markusssen, who also has three assists this year. Sophomore midfielder Kayla Sisco, who was honored with First Team All-LSC and First Team All-Midwest Region at the end of her first season in Canyon, is second on the team in goals, with seven. Sophomore forward Kendal Kitchens is second on the team in points; she has 17 points by way of six goals and five assists. Sophomore midfielder Miriam Dominguez is the team's leader in assists, with eight, followed by sophomore Adi Stein's six. Stein was last year's LSC Co-Freshman of the Year in addition to earning First Team All-LSC and First Team All-Midwest Region honors. In goal, sophomore Lisha Jungmann has a record of 10-4, tallying 56 saves (.778 save percentage) and allowing just 16 goals (1.17 goals against average) in her 14 games played. The Lady Buffs' only senior, Sarah Pipkin, will be recognized at the beginning of the match. Pipkin has started in two of her four games played and has recorded seven saves (.700 save percentage) with just three goals against (1.15 goals against average) to collect a 1-1 record. |
