GOODWILL, Okla. - The West Texas A&M softball team got back on the winning track on Tuesday afternoon by taking both games of a doubleheader at Oklahoma Panhandle State by the scores of 6-1 and 9-1.

The victories improve the Lady Buffs' overall record this season to 15-19 heading into this weekend's Lone Star Conference tournament in Durant, Okla.

In Tuesday's opener, Chantel Pearson picked up the first victory of her college career, pitching five strong innings. Junior infielder Erin Hartigan added a two-run double in the winning effort.

During the night cap, senior Andrea Renteria tossed six innings to improve her pitching record to 5-6 on the season. Junior Caitlin Schmidt connected on a three-run home run, her fourth long ball of the season.
