Lady Buff Softball Inks Texas HS Standout

CANYON, Texas - West Texas A&M University softball coach Kevin Blaskowski has announced the signing of shortstop Kimberly LeComte, from Boerne High School in Boerne, Texas, to a national letter-of-intent to play for the Lady Buffs in the 2008-09 academic year. LeComte, a first-team All-Area and All-District selection in 2007, helped lead Boerne HS to the 4A State Championship. She was named to the All-Tournament team at the state tournament and she received the honor of being named to the San Antonio Super team. This season, LeComte is hitting .436 with five home runs, 23 runs scored and 22 RBI. She has hit six doubles and two triples and has stolen seven bases. As a junior, she hit .355 with eight home runs, seven doubles and four triples. She scored 43 runs and collected 33 RBI. She also stole 17 bases. "Kimberly is a very talented softball player and she is a great athlete. She knows the game and is a proven clutch performer at the plate," commented Blaskowski. "She has all the skills to make an immediate impact as a freshman and I look for her to have a great career as a member of our program." LeComte plays travel softball for San Antonio HITT and is coached by Charles Dismuke. She is the daughter of Danny and Terri LeComte. She plans on majoring in education. LeComte, the Lady Buffs first spring signing, joins Courtney Ford (Bryan), Kristina Myles (Southlake Carroll) and Marci Womack (Sulphur Springs) who signed letters of intent during the fall signing period. |
