A natural right side hitter, Prinsen will have the opportunity to see more playing time this season after seeing limited action behind senior Rachel Altman last season.

2006 Season (Freshman)
Played in 26 matches during her first year in Canyon ... Collected 66 kills in 153 chances for a .248 hitting percentage and a average of 1.69 kills per game ... Also chipped in with 38 digs and 13 total blocks (one solo, 12 block assists) ... Collected a season-high 10 kills on only 14 attacks on Oct. 7, helping lead the Lady Buffs to a victory over Southwest Oklahoma State.

Graduated from Klein Collins High School and played for head coach Maddie Williams ... The Tigers went 15-11 her senior season ... She was the Tiger's Most Valuable Hitter in 2005 ... 1st Team All-District in 2004 and 2003 ... Also lettered in softball, track and basketball ... Academic All-District honoree in 2005 ... Also played for Xtreme VBC.

"Laura did a great job with her playing opportunities as a freshman and showed the potential to be a big time offensive player. By the end of the spring season, there was little doubt that Laura would be a go-to player this fall. Laura hits the ball extremely hard and is very difficult to dig. In addition, the improvements to her blocking and defense exceeded the coaching staff's expectations. Laura will have a breakout type season, and make a lot of teams take notice."
