Served as the back-up catcher to senior Libby Garza during her first year in the program ... Saw action in 23 matches, starting two contests ... Collected 201 assists on the year at an average of 5.43 assists per game ... Also contributed 38 digs ... Enjoyed her best statistical game of the year against Panhandle State on Sept. 26, as she collected season highs in assists (35), digs (9) and kills (4).

Played for head coach Jen Renner at Canyon High School ... Led the Eagles to a 32-9 record her senior season ... Three time All-State selection ... Four time Outstanding Setter honoree ... Two time District MVP and two time Team MVP ... Amarillo Golden-Spread All-Star tournament MVP.

"After serving as the apprentice to Libby Garza last season, Katie is ready to take over the offense in 2007. Katie really improved her consistency and decision making, and by the end of the spring season looked ready to go. She has also worked hard on her blocking and defense, and I expect those areas to continue to get better throughout the season. Athletically, Katie has no limitations, and has a chance to be a great setter."
