WTAMU Cross Country Competes at the OSU Cowboy Jamboree

STILWATER, Okla. - Both the West Texas A&M men's and women's cross country teams competed in the prestigious Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree on Saturday morning as the squads continued to prepare themselves for upcoming Lone Star Conference competition.

The Lady Buffs finished in seventh place overall in the women's college division with sophomore Kristie Hartsfield leading the way in 18th place with a run of 19:40. Mariana Chavira was the next Lady Buff to cross the finish line in 28th place (19:55) and was followed closely by WT's Belinda Castanon who was in 33rd place (20:03).

Senior Jisel Bailon completed for the first time this fall after missing time due to injury. Delinda Hill, Sharen Diggs and Dorane Young also competed for the Lady Buffs.

On the men's side, Jose Velaszquez was the first Buff to cross the finish line with a run of 27:41. Thomas Harris finished in 83rd place with a run of 28:36, while Jose Huerta ended the race in 87th place and Isai Saucedo finished the event in 152nd place.
